We stopped for a while to enjoy hot springs up in the mountain. An incredible view, the wind in the trees and tropical-sounding birds made it a relaxing afternoon. After a brief soak in the springs -- and barely a chance to dry off -- I was asked if I wanted to swim with the horses. Curious as to what that would entail, I jumped at the chance. Back on the horse and soon we were submerged in the deep water.

It's fascinating to gallop through a rural area with concrete homes and very third-world-looking conditions and see satellite dishes outside the homes.

Residents wave as we pass, you can't help but have that "Welcome Home" feeling I got right when I left the airport to start our Puerto Vallarta adventure.

The horses love the water and everybody needs a drink. And without further delay, the prospects of tequila tasting upon our return to the barn nearly had me giddyup that horse to get back.
